Topic:
Traditional Spatial Models: An Example
OVERVIEW and OBJECTIVES
In the following we present an example of traditional spatial modelling,
following one of our readings.
OBJECTIVES:
Those who successfully complete the module should
- know how to generate or simulate a poisson spatial process
- understand the rudiments of discretizing data into quadrats
- know several definitions of contiguity
- understand the difference between "true" and "apparent" contagion
- know what "equifinality" means
- know the definitions of, and appreciate the value of the dispersion, the
d-statistic, and Moran's I in analyzing the quadrat data
