Synergies
- Effects on the department:
- Student-centered curriculum issues (should we offer multivariate
statistics?)
- We spin off relationships between department members and other on
campus, and off (in grants, projects, papers, etc.)
- Keeps new faculty busy with projects -- fights insulation!
(Good for tenure?)
- The MSCC has been a bargaining chip and showpiece in hires.
- Grant writers begin to knock at the door
- include us in the budget line for analysis
- ask us to serve as program evaluators
- Naming rights! An alumnus makes the largest individual gift in NKU
history to us (250K)
- We were a prime target!
- It's certainly true that had we not been there, we
would not have gotten the money!
- Evolution?
- CS projects (mostly software development) are changing the MSCC
(MSCSCC?)
- We're starting to take on long term projects:
- SBHC project (from two years to the next five years?)
- Evaluations for five year grants
- Campbell County's "Building Better Brains" (18 years!)
