Jar
This black on red buff jar is from Chihuahua, Mexico. Four bands of a scrolling black and red pattern wrap around the jar. These scrolls are accented by small triangles. In between each of the four bands is a thin undecorated red band. The inside of the jar is a light brown color, while the outside is red buff. The base of the jar is rounded. This is a modern creation based on the unique style of pottery of the Casas Grandes culture.
