CINSAM accepts proposals each fall for fun, hands-on summer camps and academies that get K-12 students excited and curious about STEM subjects.

These popular summer programs are created and delivered by NKU faculty/staff and qualified community members on topics in STEM.

HOW IT WORKS

Camps/Academies take place:

  • in June and July
  • for 5 days (M-F)
  • during business hours

Program leaders:

  • design the program
  • select personnel to help run the program
  • deliver the program

CINSAM handles:

  • funding
  • marketing
  • hiring
  • logistics

Summer Camps (grades K - 9)

Camp funding is available to anyone as long the focus of the program is STEM-related and the camp leaders have expertise in STEM education.

Non-NKU employees must work with CINSAM’s Program Manager to ensure proper access to facilities and fit with university structures.

Summer Academies (grades 9 - 12

Academy funding is available to NKU faculty and staff from CINSAM-supported STEM departments. Academies are designed to offer high school students learning experiences in a STEM discipline, as well as some exposure to elements of campus life.

The proposal application period for summer 2024 is closed.

Proposal submission links and documents for 2025 camps and academies will be released in November 2024.
