Career & Graduate School Advising
In addition to academic advising, students are strongly encouraged to meet with professors for specialized advising in careers and graduate schools for specific interest(s). Please speak with your academic advisor about your interests so that they may direct you to a faculty member for mentoring.
To declare a major/minor in sociology, students should log into their MyNKU account and choose program change/declaration request from the drop down menu. For specific instructions, click here.
The next step is to make an appointment with an academic advisor in the sociology program. Advisors meet regularly with majors to assist in planning class schedules that will fulfill general studies requirements and major requirements. Students MUST complete the degree requirement checklist and it bring it with them to their scheduled appointment.
