WAVES Gnuplot Troubleshooting
The following information covers the most common problems
which may occur while using the interface. If your problem
persists, please report it to Tom Misley at
misley@ee.pdx.edu.
Missing Plot: If the form returns an empty plot, the most common
problem is a miss-match between the Data Format, the Plot Source, and
the Plot Source Type. Make sure the Data Format is set to the
proper dimension, and the Plot Source Type matches the Plot Source's
text entry field. Also, be sure all the plots you want to appear
on the final image are marked as "on" by selecting the checkbox
next to the text entry field; if none of the checkboxes are turned on, then
no plot will be returned.
Another possible problem is a typographical error in a function or file
name. Recheck the text entry fields to ensure they reflect the proper
Plot Source.
Plot Does Not Correspond to Selected Plot Source: To prevent the
browser from presenting you with a cached version of your plot, the
interface attaches a random number to the final image name. Although
unlikely, it is possible for the same random number to be selected and
thus, you may receive an old (cached) version of your plot. If this
occurs simply resubmit the interface form. This will cause your plot
to receive a new name which will normally not be in your browser's cache.
If you have been using the features under "Additional Commands:"
make sure you activate the "Ignore Commands Below" radio button
when you want to return to using the form interface.
