Event Policies

• Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time.
• The box office will be open 1 hour before the performance time.
• Venues will open for seating approximately 30 minutes prior to curtain.
• Guests should be seated 10 minutes before the performance time.
  

• If NKU closes due to inclement weather conditions, all scheduled performances on that day will be canceled.
• If a performance is canceled, guests may receive a refund or exchange for another date of the same production, subject to availability.
• Box office staff will call guests to make arrangements, or guests may also call the box office.
• The box office will make every effort to alert guests in advance on its voice mail message, website, and local media if a performance is canceled.
  

• Complimentary tickets are available for SOTA Faculty, Staff, Students, and Guest Artists.
  

• Due to the intimate nature of performances, any noise may be disruptive for other guests, as well as the performers.
• Out of courtesy, we insist that all electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, etc.) be turned off, and any lozenges or cough drops be opened before the start of the performance.
• Conversation must be kept to a minimum, and text messaging is prohibited.
• Management reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person whose conduct is deemed to be disorderly or who fails to comply with established policies.
  

• If you need to change your reservation for any reason, please contact the box office for an exchange. Please do not re-purchase, as all sales are final and refunds/cancellations cannot be made. We will try to accommodate ticket exchanges up to 48 hours before.
• Guests have the option to make exchanges online through their account. The exchange must be for equal or lesser value (no refunds if lesser), and the event must be 7 days or more out in order to exchange.
  

• No food or drinks are permitted in any performance venue in the Fine Arts Center.

• NKU SOTA has transitioned to a digital box office model.
• Online orders can be placed 24-hours, 7 days a week at nku.edu/tickets.
• For phone orders or inquiries, please leave a voicemail at 859-572-5464 and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
• You may also email boxoffice@nku.edu with any other questions.
• For live assistance, please visit or contact the box office during the following hours:
  • Tuesday Noon - 4 p.m.
  • Thursday Noon - 4 p.m.
• The physical box office will also open one hour before ticketed events for any night of show needs.
  

• Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager at the first appropriate break that allows for the least disruption.
• Please keep in mind only a limited number of latecomers can be accommodated.
• Due to seating arrangements and staging of Stauss Theatre, there is no late seating.

• If you wish to be added to the mailing list, please contact the Box Office.
  

• Ticket purchases, as well as tax-deductible donations and gift certificates, may be made securely online, in-person, or by phone.
• Group sales are available by phone or in-person only. Please call or email the box office for arrangements.

• Transactions are now cashless.
• The box office accepts credit card payments only.
• Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted. We do not accept American Express.

• Online orders can be placed 24-hours, 7 days a week.
  

• Parking Lots D and I have been designated for NKU SOTA events, including music concerts, theatre & dance productions, and art gallery receptions.
• If attending student recitals, productions in The Henry Theatre, or general art gallery visits, guests should use the Welcome Center Garage.
• Parking elsewhere on campus may result in a parking citation.

Parking & Directions

• Videotaping or other video or audio recording is strictly prohibited.
• Photos are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones with cameras, video cameras, and audio recording devices.
• Management reserves the right to confiscate any devices in non-compliance to this policy.
  

• Upon purchase, guests will receive a confirmation email where they can either print tickets at home or access them through a mobile device.
• If guests do not have a mobile device or home printing capabilities, tickets can be checked in by box office staff.

• All Sales Are Final.
• We will be glad to exchange your tickets to a different performance of the same production if seats are available. Please contact the box office for an exchange. (See Exchanges)
  
• In the event of a cancellation for which there is no rescheduled date, a refund may be issued at the option of the management. (See Cancelations)
• Unfortunately, refunds are not possible more than 90 days past the date of purchase.

• Corbett Theatre performances are reserved seating.
• Stauss Theatre and Greaves Concert Hall performances are general seating.
• Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the ushers. (See Latecomer Seating)
• All performance venues have handicap accessible seating. Please see a House Manager or Usher for assistance.
• Guests requiring special seating consideration due to a medical condition should contact the Box Office to make advance arrangements with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Availability depends on the performance venue.

• If a performance sells out, the box office does have a standby policy.
• Starting 1 hour before a sold-out performance, box office staff will begin a waitlist.
• If any seats become available, they will be sold to those on the waitlist in the order in which they signed up.
• Waitlist names cannot be taken over the phone; you must arrive in person to sign up.
• We cannot guarantee that seats will become available, but will do our best to accommodate.
• Tickets will be sold at full price – each name on the waitlist may purchase a maximum of 4 tickets, subject to availability.
