Weekly Schedule
MAT 229-002, Spring 2021 |
Week One, January 11–17 |
- Week 1 written
assignment: due Friday, January 22
- Monday: Inverse functions
- Inverse function notes (as a pdf)
- Inverse function notes (original Mathematica
notebook)
- My "lectures" over this
material: note that I was using a slightly
different version of the materials -- Prof. Wilkinson
and I continue to attempt to improve things, so he
added several "in-line" videos to help with the
questions.
- Make sure that you've done your introduction on
Canvas. We're off to a good start!
- You have an IMath assignment, due
1/25 -- more than anything we want you to get
up and running with that. There's also a "practice"
assignment, where you can play around, to make sure
that you understand how to enter your answers.
- Tuesday/Thursday: Computer
lab assignment: due 1/16
(you'll be working on this during the lab time --
hopefully you can finish it!)
- Introduction to Mathematica as a plotting calculator
- Tangent lines to exponential functions
- Linear approximations of exponential functions
If you can't download your own copy of Mathematica for
some reason, you can also use Mathematica without
downloading it by accessing NKU's Virtual
Lab. (Instructions)
- Wednesday: Exponential functions
As usual, there's an IMath assignment associated with this section.
- Friday: Logarithms
